  • Jordan Raynor reminded us to go to the author of time about how to manage time And he also reminded us to close our open loops.
  • Min Lee reminded us that God overcomes obstacles by using the body of Christ
  • Mark Hallock reminded us you teach what you know but you reproduce who you are!
  • Frank Lewis reminded us that we are carriers of hope through what we preach and who we are
  • Bob Bumgarner reminded us that we need each other, we are not to Pastor alone

Our good friend Mark Hallock stops by to talk about the nuts and bolts work of Replanting a local church, but before getting to strategy, Mark looks at the character and heart of the Replant Pastor.

Replanter be aware of this:

  • We need the supernatural presence of God in Replanting – so pray!
  • We are called to Shepherd God’s people, the flock in our church!
  • We will face challenges in this work – we must persevere!
    • In loving and leading our family
    • In dealing with conflict
    • In managing your schedule well
  • Shepherding and Membership matter-get it right and your work will be filled with Joy!

In Mark’s new book, The Perseverance of a Faithful Pastor, he unpacks practical steps, actions and heart postures to take as you lead in your Replant.

EPISODE #75 - STAYING ENCOURAGED AS A PASTOR
/

This week the guys welcome to the bootcamp a long time Replanting friend, Pastor Mark Hallock, of the Calvary family of Churches in Denver Colorado.  The guys spend time talking about how to be encouraged as a Pastor during this difficult season we find ourselves in.

Key takeaways:

  • Every person needs more encouragement than they get!
  • Pastor-you must stay encouraged yourself!
    • Think on Godly things (Philippians 4:8)
    • Guard against the overindulgence of ministry and media
    • Get outside in God’s creation!
    • Spend time in personal worship
    • Engage in edifying conversations
    • Spend time in prayer
  • Encourage those around you
    • Be intentional and consistent in your communication with your leaders
    • Practice Macro and Micro Shepherding
      • Micro-one to one (texts, phone calls etc.)
      • Macro-entire congregation
    • Pray for and feed the flock God’s word
    • Get back to the basics of pastoring your people
    • Trust the Lord and ask him to give you Joy

Start the Barnabas Challenge: encourage three people everyday. This will transform your congregation-it is powerful when a church becomes an encouraging church.

Episode #1 - What is the Difference Between a Replant and a Revitalization?
/

In this episode, Bob and JimBo discuss and define terms. This is one of the questions we get the most. What is the difference between a replant and a revitalization.

Replanting is a form of revitalization. Every replant is a revitalization, but not every revitalization is a replant.

REVITALIZATION = existing church + existing leaders + existing structure + history or legacy + renewed/new effort (over a protracted period of time)

REPLANT = new qualified/skilled leader + existing people + new structures/approaches + outside partners + new people + history
